Congratulations to Ken McFadyen!

Last week, AHEDC Chair and Alleghany Highlands County Administrator Ken McFadyen received the prestigious 2025 Cardinal Award during the Fall Virginia Economic Developers Association (VEDA) Conference. This lifetime achievement award recognized his incredible leadership and remarkable contributions made to economic development in the Commonwealth.

Our team attended this conference in Downtown Harrisonburg that brought together Economic Developers from across the state, and focused on topics such as Principles of Using Foresight, Disaster Resilience, AI in Economic Development, a General Assembly preview and a VEDP update. We left the event so excited for the incredible opportunities in the Alleghany Highlands and the future of economic development in our region and Virginia!
